Zach and Rachel Smith, the husband-wife owners of Pizzeria Bebu, are so enamored of Rubirosa Ristorante, a highly regarded restaurant in NYC’s Nolita neighborhood, that Bebu lists an “Ode to Rubirosa” pie on its menu.
Which, not surprisingly, got the attention of Rubirosa co-owner Maria Pappalardo.
“My best friend’s family is in Chicago, and my dentist practices in Chicago,” Pappalardo said. “I really enjoy the food scene there. And when I was there, somebody who found out my (Rubirosa) connection told me there was this pie actually on the menu.
